t.enable is currently a sole-proprietorship registered near Boston, MA
in the heart of the of the photonics valley, amidst the world’s leading academic
institutions. t.enable is owned by James S. Ismail who, in 1997, received
a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa
Barbara with an emphasis in Control Theory, Dynamics and Robotics. While at UCSB,
his research interests included Robust Adaptive Control of Nonsmooth Nonlinear
Systems (dissertation - pdf) and High Speed Scanning Probe
Microscopy/Precision Machining and Imaging
(U.S. patent no. 5,831,181).
Over the course of eight years, Dr. Ismail’s industry experience has spanned the
fields of Aerospace, Photonics Automation, the Hard Disk Drive test sector and Hybrid
Electric Vehicle development.
